Elisa Balducci… Italy. Researcher in neurodevelopment at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Barcelona (IBMB/CSIC). I obtained my degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Bologna and then moved to Barcelona for my PhD in Biomedicine. My Passion: people; my fault: unable to live without new challenges; my dreams: a citizenship of curios and empathic people… and the sunset at the beach with my friends.

María José Barallobre… Spain. Researcher, Institute of Molecular Biology of Barcelona (IBMB/CSIC). A Galician that learned to speak in Andalucia and that, after passing through Paris, resides in Catalunya. What a mix! Besides I am a neurobiologist and absolutely conveince that scientific culture should be part of the basic culture of all citizens.

Antonios Lioutas… Greece. Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG). Grown on the island of Crete, Greece. I studied Plant Biology in Crete and did my Masters in Plant Biotechnology at Wageningen UR, Netherlands. Currently in Barcelona finishing my PhD in Molecular Cell Biology. I dislike: disregard, thoughtlessness, spendthrift behaviors, lack of punctuality. I like: dreaming of the future challenges, biology, science and science dissemination, reading, thinking, doubting, improving, making good use of time and resources, being by the sea!

Roser Pinyol… Catalonia. Researcher, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG). I grew up in Girona, I studied chemistry at the IQS in Barcelona and I got my doctorate from the Otto-von-Guericke Universität Magdeburg (Germany). I am currently a researcher at the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona. I love research and I am working to bring it closer to society to ensure that both evolve together.

Martin Schütz… Germany. Researcher, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG). I am a biologist specialized in Genetics, I studied at Regensburg (including a year in Paris and one in Cambridge), followed by a Masters in Biomedicine and a Doctorate in Developmental Cell Biology in Barcelona. Always felt this big of motivation to move on and try new things, learn and share them. I chose science and being a researcher because it combines all these together!

Antònia (Toni) Lluch…Catalonia. Barcelona head to toe, she studied her BSc on Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona and has a PhD on plant molecular biology. The innate curiosity for human biology, her scientific background and over a decade of professional career in contact with biomedical research in my country, inspire me and give me enthusiasm to bring scientific research to society and to young generations.
